The question:
What is the best value (lowest cost) for family of 2-3 users? What have you done?
We used to have the XBOX 360 with Xbox Live Gold ("Family" subscription for $100/yr
). The "Family" subscription expired a couple years ago while we were on Xbox hiatus. We recently purchased the XBOX ONE (Xmas 2019, No pun intended).
Requirement:
We have a small family of users (2-3 accounts) that need Xbox Live for playing games together split-screen & on-line:
PvZ Garden Warfare (split-screen/single-user)
/PvZ Garden Warfare 2 (split-screen/single-user)
/Roblox (single)
/CoD (split)
/Maybe something else?
).
According to the microsoft website the options are (XBOX.com "Xbox Live Gold")-- $10/mo
, $25/3-mo
, $60-yr
.
So for my family that would be annually $120 or $180... Pricey! We recently purchased a discounted offer (from the XBOX ONE Store) at $2 for 1-month
. I quickly cancelled the $10/mo billing.
I would really like to see all of us playing together for $100 annual. What options do you recommend at that range? Some possible options I've thought about...
- I have heard that "only one users with Live Gold is needed per console". Does anyone have any reference information or experiences about this?
- I have seen sellers listing Xbox Live Gold Codes on eBay... and 1-Yr can go for about $42. That's cheaper than $60 but still pricey... $126 for three codes.
